Tile Setter Job Description

A Tile Setter is responsible for installing ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles in commercial and residential settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring, marking, and cleaning.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, mortars, and grouts to ensure a strong bond between tiles and surfaces.
  • Set tiles in place, using hand tools and power equipment to ensure proper alignment and spacing.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings, using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Pack and remove excess grout to create a smooth, even finish.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, and lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative designs.
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite tiles.
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
  • Install tile strips and ensure a seamless finish.
Work Environment:

The Tile Setter will work in a variety of settings, including commercial and residential construction sites, and may be required to work at heights or in confined spaces.

Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in tile setting or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working at heights.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work with a variety of tile materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
