Senior Manager, Standards Product Management

CSA Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Standards Product Management to lead the development and implementation of market-specific strategies for the design, development, sales, licensing/distribution, and support of user-facing products, services, and platforms within Standards. The successful candidate will maximize non-profit investments in education and technology resources to promote and support the adoption and use of standards within Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term education services strategy, including product and platform roadmaps, profitable business models, and pricing strategy.
  • Identify, implement, and quantify the return-on-strategy of non-profit investments in resources to support access, knowledge, and application of standards.
  • Oversee the development of long-term competitive and market assessments, focusing on needs assessment and the clear articulation of market characteristics and desired outcomes.
  • Lead the strategic planning process for value-added products and platforms by sector, recommending how to advance in key areas.
  • Ensure team follows consistent product and lifecycle management processes, including annual business planning, for all products, services, and platforms.
  • Lead the development of business cases for investment in products, services, and platforms and ensure effective management of projects.
  • Contribute to monthly reforecast and business analysis processes.
  • Oversee the development of annual product marketing plan and provide input to Marketing for implementation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and identify strategic opportunities with key internal and external contacts.
  • Develop and implement effective, global strategic sales and distribution strategy to grow overall revenue.
  • Safeguard CSA intellectual property through oversight of effective copyright licensing.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Inside Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure sales and business policies and procedures support overall commercial strategy.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of team processes, leveraging Lean methodology for process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate University degree in Business or related field.
  • MBA or Master's Degree an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Product Development or Business Development.
  • Minimum of 7 years of people management experience.

  • Ability to prioritize conflicting objectives and make decisions with incomplete/partial information.
  • Strong business, research, and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility to meet shifting deadlines, priorities, and market needs.
  • Problem-solving aptitude to resolve customer/member issues.
  • Stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • High degree of self-motivation.
  • Strong leadership, strategic, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) and knowledge of national and international standards industry would be a definite asset.
