We are seeking a skilled and experienced Substation Technician to join our team at Inrush Electrical. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of the electrical distribution system.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting and testing electrical equipment and devices
  • Analyzing adverse conditions and documenting test results
  • Taking corrective actions as necessary to ensure the reliability and performance of the electrical distribution system
Requirements

To be considered for this position, the candidate must:

  • Have a strong understanding of electrical system maintenance and repair
  • Be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety core principles/procedures
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Be available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel (Canada, USA, Mexico)
  • Have a valid passport
Technical Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in instrument transformer testing (CCVT, CT, SSVT)
  • Knowledge of surge arrester power factor testing
  • Familiarity with capacitor bank or power-factor correction systems
  • Skills in power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance)
  • Experience in high voltage breaker testing: timing, travel, and functional testing
  • Understanding of switchgear functionals – print reading, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to perform ATS Testing – ensuring proper operation from normal to emergency power
