Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join our team at Inrush Electrical. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design and development of electrical power systems, including studies, documentation, and project management.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our power distribution projects. You will work closely with our team to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients' unique requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical engineering documentation, including specifications, calculations, reports, and requisitions, while ensuring compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day engineering interfaces between project management, engineering teams, and EPC/MOC contractors, ensuring effective collaboration across disciplines and alignment with project goals.
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering changes, providing technical input and ensuring stakeholders are informed; review and approve vendor documentation for compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess existing installations, gather data, and provide comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations to inform design and execution strategies.
  • Provide engineering support throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, acting as a liaison between various stakeholders and ensuring clear communication of technical aspects.

Requirements:

  • P.Eng. designation with at least 5 years' experience in power system design and studies.
  • Electrical power system studies (load flow, short circuits, arc flash, motor starting, grounding, etc.).
  • Experience and working knowledge of ETAP.
  • Strong project execution skills & experience, specializing in MOC processes.
  • Preparing Design and Project Packages.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors & responding to RFIs.
  • High/medium/low voltage electrical design & technical report writing.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code C22.1-21 Part 1.
  • Knowledge of IEEE Standards related to medium and high voltage installations and studies.
  • Medium voltage switchgear design & high voltage substation design.
  • Design of medium and high voltage protection systems & relays (schematics, wiring & settings).
