We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Lifestyle Options. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, equipment, and grounds.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and facilities.
  • Respond to maintenance inquiries from staff and residents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Operate grounds-keeping power equipment and maintain external property to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
  • Engage in friendly, polite conversation with residents and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; diploma or degree in power engineering, mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or engineering considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License required.
  • Clear criminal record check completed a maximum of three (3) months prior to the 'date of hire' required.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills to effectively communicate with all residents, visitors, and at all levels within the organization required.
  • Knowledge and ability to work on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to perform small repairs, create alternative solutions to problems, and exercise necessary cost control measures.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.

Work Environment:
  • On call duties are required.
  • Physically strenuous work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lb frequently.
  • Travel to other sites will be required, and off-site locations may be required.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Potential exposures to infectious diseases, including an outbreak environment.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Indoor and outdoor work, including exposure to extreme environmental temperatures.
