Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Sandvik. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical aspects of our mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and servicing of electrical equipment.
  • Planning and execution of maintenance tasks, ensuring all work procedures are followed.
  • Commissioning of new equipment, including pre-delivery inspections and hot commissioning.
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
  • Identification and repair of electrical components, ensuring preventive and cost-efficient maintenance.
  • Supporting customers by suggesting improvements to our products and services.
  • Utilizing knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.
  • Understanding system functionality and interactions of electrical systems.
  • Completing maintenance reports and documenting work completed.
  • Collecting technical feedback from customers and inputting it into our database.
  • Assigning tasks to junior staff and guiding them in their completion.
  • Coaching customer technicians on basic electrical maintenance principles.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out according to safety standards.
Requirements
  • Diploma in a Mechanical or Electrical field and Red Seal Heavy Duty Electrician License.
  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Excellent proficiency in reading electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Western Canada.
  • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
