Senior Cloud Software Development Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence. As a technical leader, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare technology.

Job DescriptionAs a Principal Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing technical responsibility for critical areas of functionality in new releases, utilizing practiced judgment to determine methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
- Making decisions that impact our release, technical strategy, and company success.
- Working on strategic platforms and proposing technical/quality strategies and roadmaps.
- Taking calculated risks, learning from successes or failures, and applying lessons to the next problem.
- Developing deep knowledge in multiple areas touching modern software development, both theoretical and practical.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
- At least 10 years' experience as part of highly functional software development teams building world-class products, with demonstrated ability to build large systems.
- 10 years' experience with polyglot programming in various languages, including Java, NodeJS, C/C++, Python, Golang, command line scripting, and knowledge in building high-performance microservices.
- 10 years' deep hands-on technical expertise in at least one major technical area, such as large-scale *NIX systems engineering, complex distributed systems, and machine learning/data pipeline-oriented systems.
- Experience as an effective interviewer and championing the engineering recruiting process across multiple functional areas.
- Optional: Master's Degree (or PhD) in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent education/experience, and public contributions to large open-source projects, patents, publications, or conference presentations.
The estimated salary for this position is around $250,000 per year, based on the level of experience required and the location. This figure may vary depending on individual circumstances.
