Environmental Services Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the Environmental Services department, including housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the activities of the Environmental Services department, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Supervise and train team members, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including fire safety and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent resident experience.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction and safety.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and prevailing best practices related to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
- Ontario: Successful completion of the Fire Safety Planning Training for Owners and Operators in accordance with Ontario Regulation 150/13.
- Background in a building trade is an asset, with the ability to read and interpret building prints and drawings.
- Knowledge of the requirements of The Long Term Care Homes Act, Standards and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes.
- Computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
- Management experience working in an institutional setting.
- WHMIS training.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certification.
