Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Aspira Lincoln Park Retirement Living. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Environmental Services team and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Environmental Services department, including housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Supervise and train team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
  • Monitor and control department budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds, including equipment, furnishings, and fixtures.
  • Oversee the waste management program and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient laundering of linen and residents' personal clothing.
  • Support the fire safety program and administer the quality assurance program for housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in environmental services.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and prevailing best practices related to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
  • Ontario: Successful completion of the Fire Safety Planning Training for Owners and Operators in accordance with Ontario Regulation 150/13.
  • Background in a building trade is an asset with the ability to read and interpret building prints and drawings.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of The Long Term Care Homes Act, Standards and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes.
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management experience working in an institutional setting.
  • WHMIS training.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certification.
