Job Summary

Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a skilled and certified Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm systems, access control systems, and intercom systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Installation and Maintenance: Perform rack-up, programming, verification, and inspection of fire alarm systems, access control systems, and intercom systems.
  • Inspections and Service: Conduct regular inspections and service on Mircom and non-Mircom products to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner, providing detailed information on system performance and any issues encountered.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers as needed, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services.
  • Training and Education: Provide operational training to end-users, ensuring they are proficient in the use and maintenance of our systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Mircom, adhering to our high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals related to fire alarm systems and other fire protection equipment.
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the Fire Alarm industry.
  • Education: Electronics diploma or equivalent from an accredited college or university, or documented and demonstrated trade qualification.
  • Certifications: Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Registration or comparable qualification.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Transportation: Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license (G License).
  • Assets: Knowledge of Mircom systems, competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
