The Role: Project Coordinator

As a Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of commercial construction projects. From pre-construction through to project completion, you'll assist the Project Manager and site teams in ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved. This is a hands-on position that offers exposure to all aspects of construction project management, setting the stage for long-term growth in your career.

Requirements

Skills and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to assist in planning, organizing, and executing projects.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Assist in the management of project cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Organize site logistics and manage material deliveries to ensure the project timeline stays on track.
  • Monitor safety protocols and compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Conduct progress reporting and provide updates to key stakeholders.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Project Coordinator role within the construction industry, preferably with a large general contractor.
  • A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction processes, including tenant improvements and new builds.
  • Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Knowledge of construction drawings, contracts, and scheduling techniques.
  • Familiarity with BC Building Code and WorkSafeBC regulations is a plus.
