Job Description

The University of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Finance SBA team. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical financial support and expertise to colleges and units across campus.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with senior finance staff to ensure the successful completion of daily financial tasks and contribute to the achievement of financial objectives and operational requirements.

You will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and university policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in budgeting, financial planning, reporting, analysis, and forecasting processes
  • Ensure timely processing and recording of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and accruals
  • Coordinate and complete fund reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify and implement financial best practices
  • Provide professional support to assigned units in their day-to-day financial and operational needs
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have a relevant certificate or degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, or a related field.

A minimum of five years of related experience in general accounting, preferably in an institutional setting, is required.

You must possess excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and knowledge of USask financial, HR, and work management systems are also essential.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
