Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading a team of skilled tradespeople in a fast-paced, industrial environment. As a Trade Operations Leader, you will be accountable for ensuring the safe and efficient completion of projects, while meeting high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Management: Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of tradespeople, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate and manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets Seaspan's high-quality standards, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain excellence.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree or trades certification, with a strong focus on supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related trades work experience, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Skillset: Proficient knowledge of trade responsibilities specific to heavy manufacturing, including welding, metal fabrication, electrical, pipefitting, and mechanical work.
  • Communication: Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with others towards a shared goal.
