Job Title: Class A Gasfitter/ Industrial Boiler Technician

Job Summary:

Prins Greenhouses is seeking a skilled Class A Gasfitter/Boiler Service Technician to join its Service Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial burner and boiler systems, specifically with steam and hot water boilers, burners (gas, oil & combination), and associated controls. As a Boiler Service Technician, you will conduct new burner system installations, start-ups, emergency repairs, maintenance, safety checks, inspections, and troubleshooting systems for various issues.

You will be responsible for conducting teardowns, pulling burners, and inspecting boiler systems to ensure compliance with relevant codes. A strong background in industrial greenhouse boiler systems and experience with various manufacturers' equipment (Zantingh, Vitotherm, Weishaupt, Riello, Cleaver Brooks, Power Flame, etc.) is required. Additionally, experience with linkage-less control systems, including AutoFlame, Siemens, Honeywell, etc., is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation of new burner systems, including burner panels, control wiring, and gas line connections with regulators and vent lines.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits, design registrations, and product approvals with the service coordinator and BC Safety Authorities.
  • Conduct maintenance on industrial greenhouse boiler systems, including cleaning and inspecting burners.
  • Perform safety checks and inspections on controls to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Provide emergency services as required.
  • Conduct teardowns, pull burners, and inspect boiler tubes to maintain optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot services for ignition failure, water problems, and high CO levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain valid safety certificates.
  • Stay updated on advancements in burner technology and greenhouse boiler systems to recommend upgrades or improvements that enhance reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience servicing hot water and steam boilers, burners (gas, oil & combination), and associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion, and associated piping systems.
  • Licensed Class A Gasfitter.
  • Experience working with larger industrial boiler & burner systems, burner controls & instrumentation, preferably with various manufacturers' equipment.
  • Experience with linkage-less control systems, including AutoFlame, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.
  • Available for on-call emergency repairs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
