Dean of Arts Faculty

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the next Dean of the Faculty of Arts. As a key member of the University's senior academic leadership team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the future of arts education at one of Canada's most innovative and inclusive universities.
Key Responsibilities- Academic Leadership and Innovation: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Faculty of Arts, ensuring academic excellence and innovation in teaching, research, and community engagement.
- Faculty Management and Development: Recruit, mentor, and support faculty members, fostering a culture of academic excellence and inclusivity.
- Strategic Planning and Institutional Leadership: Contribute to the development and implementation of the University's Strategic Plan, aligning the Faculty of Arts with the University's mission and priorities.
- Community and Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including students, alumni, community leaders, and Indigenous communities.
The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree in a related arts discipline, with an active record of research, scholarship, and teaching. They will have significant experience in a senior academic leadership role, with a proven track record of managing complex budgets and effective resource allocation. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as a strong commitment to learner-centred practices in academia.
