We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Lecturer to teach a course in Finance for Planners at the University of Toronto.
Course Description:The purpose of this course is to introduce planning students to current issues in municipal finance in Canada and around the world, provide basic economic tools to analyze municipal public finance problems, and emphasize the important role that municipal finance plays in planning decisions.
Responsibilities:- Preparing materials for lectures and class discussions
- Preparing course syllabi and selecting relevant readings
- Developing, administering, and marking course assignments, tests and exams
- Test/exam invigilation
- Holding regular office hours
- Planning and supervising the work of teaching assistants
- A graduate degree in Economics or a related field with substantial professional experience in the area of municipal finance
- Previous experience teaching this or a similar course for planning students at the graduate University level is preferred
