Job Description

We are seeking an experienced occupational therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As an ACT team member, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide rehabilitation services, including assessment, intervention, consultation, education, and support services. Your primary goal will be to empower clients to achieve their individual goals and improve their overall well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of client functional capacity, occupational performance status, and environmental supports using recognized occupational therapy and psychosocial rehabilitation tools.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with clients, their support systems, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide direct individual and group interventions to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Offer consultation, referral, and linking support to facilitate clients' effective entry and participation in life skills, education, employment, and leisure programs.
  • Collaborate with community-based agencies to ensure seamless support for clients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
  • Two years' recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community psychiatric setting.
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT-BC).
  • A valid B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
