About Us

The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects is a leading Indigenous-founded and Indigenous-led organization that supports Indigenous communities in addressing cumulative effects through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Our primary objective is to build and enhance the technical and scientific capacity of Indigenous communities across Canada, based on the values of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.

We provide funding for community-led projects, share knowledge, and link Indigenous communities together, working towards intergenerational decision-making and partnership building.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Advisor to provide policy and technical advice to our organization to advance our mission. Your expertise will help inform our Executive Director, contractors, and Indigenous communities on cumulative effects from an Indigenous perspective.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading our Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to support our mission and develop future iterative processes to improve our Community Funding Program
  • Supporting our existing online services to ensure they are current and inclusive of an Indigenous cumulative effects practice
  • Working closely with our Community Funding Program, Board, Members, TAC, and partners to develop communication materials
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5-7 years of working experience related to the required skills and abilities
  • A degree or certificate in Business Administration or a combination of education and relevant experience in environmental management, land-use planning, integrated water management, or a related field
  • Experience working with an Indigenous community
  • 3-5 years of working experience in cumulative effects
  • Proven communication skills
  • Facilitation skills an asset
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office, Slack, Google Drive, Zoom, and SalesForce an asset
