Job Title: French Immersion Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced French Immersion Teacher to join our team at the York Catholic District School Board.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the French Immersion program to students in grades 1-8 at various locations across the board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the French Immersion program with a focus on language acquisition and cultural immersion
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Provide students with opportunities to develop their language skills through authentic materials and real-life contexts
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
Requirements:
  • FSL - Part 1 and/or other French qualifications as recorded on Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
  • High degree of oral and written proficiency in the French language
  • Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division Qualifications
  • Desired Qualifications/Experience: Experience teaching in the Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division, Trained in the Accelerated Integrated Method (AIM/Gestures), FSL - Part 2 or Specialist, Knowledge of Balanced Literacy and Numeracy practices in the Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division, Excellent communication and collaboration skills
