Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant - Long Term to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. You will work closely with our Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care that promotes resident independence and self-reliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Resident Health Care: Provide personalized care to residents, including hygiene, shaving, bathing, grooming, and palliative care, as directed by our nursing staff.
  • Support Resident Safety: Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of residents by promoting a safe environment and adhering to our policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Daily Tasks: Serve food trays, verify special diets, and feed residents as needed. Assist with activities to promote self-reliance and self-esteem for rehabilitation purposes.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to observe and communicate information regarding resident well-being.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A diploma or certification in Personal Support Work or a related field.
  • Up to six months of directly related work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Satisfactory health, attendance, and former employment history.
