Environmental Technician Job Description

The Greenstone Mine is a significant open-pit gold mine in Canada, with a 14-year mine life and potential for additional underground deposits. As an Environmental Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the mine's environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing the Environmental Monitoring Plan, including sampling and inspections to identify potential environmental impacts.
  • Collect and analyze data in accordance with environmental permits, regulations, and systems.
  • Contribute to the development of environmental programs and practices to maintain site compliance.
  • Compile and review data to identify trends and ensure environmental regulations are met.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Science, or Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience in environmental sampling.
  • Ability to operate snowmobiles, ATVs, and boats.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Work Environment:

This position will be based at the mine site in Geraldton, ON. Employees working a 1/1 or 2/2 rotation will stay at an onsite camp.
