This role plays a crucial part in shaping the City's approach to affordable housing, working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government bodies and subject matter experts. The successful candidate will have the chance to positively impact the lives of Guelph's residents by creating safe, secure, and affordable housing options that meet the diverse needs of our community.

  • Lead the City's 10-year Housing Affordability Strategy, exploring new housing options within Guelph over the next decade.
  • Ensure strategic advancement of the City's Housing Accelerator Fund Action Plan to achieve the Housing Growth Supply targets for affordable units and other unit target commitments.

The ideal candidate will possess experience related to affordable housing development, considerable experience in leading teams, and excellent interpersonal skills. They should be able to negotiate, collaborate, and resolve conflicts effectively, with a proven track record of long-term visioning and big picture thinking.

We offer a competitive salary range of $117,673.92 - $147,092.40, paid vacation days, paid personal days, hybrid and flexible work arrangements, defined benefit pension plan with OMERS, extended health and dental benefits, employee and family assistance program, parental leave top-up program, learning and development opportunities, and employee recognition programs.
