Job Summary

Mon Sheong Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications and Marketing Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Development and Communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing all English communications and marketing strategies to promote Mon Sheong's work and elevate its brand image.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Communications and Marketing Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive communications and marketing plans to promote Mon Sheong's services, events, and fundraising needs.
  2. Oversee Communications Materials and Marketing Campaigns: Manage the production of communications materials, including feature articles, press releases, letters, speeches, marketing collaterals, publications, and digital marketing materials.
  3. Update and Maintain Corporate Website: Ensure the website is up-to-date and engaging, providing a professional and effective communication channel to our audience.
  4. Manage Social Media Presence: Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance Mon Sheong's digital presence, including content creation, engagement, and advertising campaigns.
  5. Strengthen Mainstream Media Relations: Collaborate with the PR & Brand Marketing Manager to build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets across Canada.
  6. Coordinate and Execute Foundation Events: Work closely with the Manager, Event Management to plan and execute events, including the production of promotional materials and external communications to generate event publicity and coverage.
  7. Support Fundraising Efforts: Assist the Fundraising team in producing fundraising campaigns and soliciting corporate sponsors, donors, and prospects.
  8. Collaborate with Promotional Partners: Work with vendors and service providers to support marketing activities as needed.
  9. Act as Liaison: Facilitate understanding between Mon Sheong and the community, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  1. Post-Secondary Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or a related field.
  2. Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications and marketing, original writing and editing, and some public relations.
  3. Language Skills: Strong English and Chinese communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to translate between the two languages a definite asset.
  4. Media Relationships: Strong relationships with media outlets across Canada.
  5. Fundraising Experience: Experience contributing to fundraising proposals.
  6. Management and Leadership Skills: Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and oversee multiple tasks.
  7. Time and Project Management Skills: Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  8. Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  9. Driver's License: Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle an asset.
