Job Title: Forest Management Software Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Forest Management Software Specialist to join our team at Silvacom Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to our clients in the forestry industry, utilizing our cutting-edge forest management software solutions.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry, with experience in forest management planning, silviculture, and regulatory frameworks. You will be responsible for working closely with our team of developers, designers, and product managers to gather requirements and execute on product development. Your expertise will be essential in validating client needs and driving customer satisfaction for our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise in forestry to support client planning needs
  • Lead consulting projects in British Columbia, supporting the FMS user base in effectively leveraging knowledge of our software
  • Confidently learn about Silvacom FMS, workflows, and use cases as the product evolves
  • Work in a business development capacity to grow our product
  • Identify opportunities for strategic product development informed by the voice of customer and market needs in British Columbia
  • Work closely with our Forest Management System software and team to gather requirements and execute on product development
  • Identify potential business opportunities and participate in proposal development
  • Participate in client-side activities like site visits, conferences, and sales meetings
Requirements
  • Intimate knowledge of the British Columbia regulatory framework
  • Experience in the forestry industry within British Columbia in a planning or silviculture role
  • Open to travel for work around the province of British Columbia to support our clients and grow our product and team
  • Initiative and creativity when approaching challenges
  • A determined focus on meeting the needs of customers
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Function as a team player with a desire to be part of a world-class team solving real-world problems
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision
