Job Title: Forest Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Forest Management Specialist to join our team at Silvacom. As a key member of our Forest Management System (FMS) team, you will play a critical role in providing subject matter expertise in forestry and evaluating our portfolio of products to inform strategic opportunities in British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with our team of developers, designers, product managers, support representatives, and business development team to provide subject matter expertise in forestry.
  • Evaluate Silvacom's portfolio of products and inform strategic opportunities in the province of British Columbia.
  • Collaborate with government and industry stakeholders to support their planning needs, including harvesting, reforestation, and operational planning.
  • Lead consulting projects in British Columbia, supporting the FMS user base in effectively leveraging knowledge of our software.
  • Work closely with our Forest Management System software and team to gather requirements and execute on product development.
  • Participate in client-side activities, including site visits, conferences, and sales meetings, which may involve travel.
  • Aid in validating client needs to drive customer satisfaction for our products and services.
Requirements:
  • Intimate knowledge of the British Columbia regulatory framework.
  • Experience in the forestry industry within British Columbia in a planning or silviculture role.
  • Open to travel for work around the province of British Columbia to support our clients, attend conferences, and grow our product and team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • An undergraduate degree in forestry, agriculture, environmental science, ecology, environmental planning, or a related field.
