Job Summary

Wood is currently seeking a highly skilled Pipefitter/Boilermaker Journeyman to join our team. This role will involve working on offshore projects in Newfoundland and Labrador, requiring the ability to travel via helicopter or supply vessel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights, using power tools, rigging equipment, and hand tools.
  • Perform physical labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions, including 12-hour shifts and overtime as required.
  • Meet physical requirements of frequent walking, climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and crawling for the duration of the shift.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of 4 Period Apprenticeship (minimum of 1,560hrs per period, directly related to the trade), followed by Journeyperson Certification OR a valid Journeyperson Certificate issued by another Canadian province or Territory with Interprovincial Red Seal Certification.
  • Fall arrest certificate is required when working at heights.
  • The following Offshore Certificates and Training is required and would be considered an asset: Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015) Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness Fall Protection Confined Space Entry Emergency First Aid.
Physical Requirements
  • Must pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test and CAPP Medical as required by the customer.
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
  • Able to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol.
