Job Summary

As a Corporate Banking Associate at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a key role in supporting the Vancouver Corporate Banking team in originating, structuring, and executing credit facilities and M&A related financings for RBC Capital Markets' clients. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of internal credit submissions, including company, industry, and financial analysis and modeling
  • Work with RBC Capital Markets partners to develop and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance and market/industry conditions
  • Create and maintain pitch decks, internal presentation materials, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Assist with Corporate Banking coverage for identified clients
Requirements
  • 3-5 years' work experience in a related field, including corporate lending, finance, and/or risk management
  • MBA and/or CPA, CFA professional designation (completed or near completion) would be an asset
  • Highly motivated self-starter with keen attention to detail and strong interest in corporate finance and credit
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time-sensitive deadlines, adapt to changing circumstances, prioritize work, and multi-task responsibilities
  • Advanced financial modeling abilities, as well as superior written and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg Portal would be an asset
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically assess financial statements, financial modeling, and other client reports to draw reasonable conclusions and make suitable recommendations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Currently located and residing in the Lower Mainland

The expected salary range for this position is CAD $120,000 – 135,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions, and business needs. You also have the potential to earn more through RBC's robust discretionary bonus program, which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
