Waiward Steel LP is a respected construction and maintenance service provider operating one of Canada's largest fabrication shops based out of Edmonton, Alberta.

We are seeking a skilled Turnaround Operations Specialist to join our team at the Shell Scotford Site in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of turnaround execution, including Pre-TA, TA, and Post-TA activities.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with experience working with unionized labor and under collective agreements.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Displays a commitment to Waiward Steel LP's incident-free vision, values, and culture
  • Contributes to the development of the team of individuals executing turnaround maintenance
  • Provides oversight of all aspects of turnaround execution – inclusive of Pre-TA, TA, and Post-TA activities
  • Analyzes and interprets productivity metrics reports and provides input on operational improvements to maximize efficiencies
  • Exercises due diligence in review of customer contract and specifications to ensure that internal processes and procedures are compliant
  • Assists with reviewing all site expenditures associated with the Turnaround

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education, degree, diploma, or certificate in a related field
  • 15 or more years of related turnaround and/or maintenance experience
  • 5 or more years' experience as a Turnaround Manager or in a progressive supervisory role
  • Experience working with unionized labor and under collective agreements
  • Proficient with common industry software, including Microsoft Office suite and Primavera
