Job Summary

The Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the Catholic classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day early learning program supporting faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting. This role requires a strong understanding of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation, as well as SMCDSB related policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a full day early learning program supporting faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting.
  • Partner with the Catholic classroom teacher to develop and implement age-appropriate Catholic programs.
  • Provide supervision and support to students in a Catholic classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with the Catholic classroom teacher to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.

Requirements
  • A two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration and good standing with The College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Minimum of six months childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
