Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the work of unionized employees, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the work of unionized employees to ensure efficient operations
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Act as a resource person for employees, providing guidance and support
- Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies and procedures
- Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budgets
- Conduct investigations and resolve customer or shipper complaints
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve safety procedures
- Participate in the disciplinary process and grievance settlement
Requirements
- Valid Restricted and Non-Restricted Federal Firearms License (PAL)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Possession of a firearm license (an asset)
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and judgment skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Critical thinking and active listening skills
