Job SummaryThis part-time casual position involves performing general housekeeping activities with attention to health and safety protocols, infection control, and quality management. You will work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues, staff, and residents while providing exceptional customer service.
Main Responsibilities- Work safely in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations, including WHMIS and Ministry of Environment Regulation 309 (Biomedical Waste).
- Operate various cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, auto scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
- Dust, sweep, and mop floors.
- Collect garbage and handle waste.
- Replenish supplies.
- Strip, disinfect, and prepare discharged beds for new admissions.
- Maintain patient and clinical areas, including carpets and chair washing.
- Set up and dismantle furniture as needed.
- Grade XII diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cleaning, preferably with microfiber systems.
- Able to read, write English, and follow written instructions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A good understanding of chemical and equipment use.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
