Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Examiner to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a Medical Examiner, you will play a critical role in investigating deaths and determining the cause and manner of death.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct autopsies and surgical specimen examinations to determine the cause and manner of death
  • Remove organs and tissue specimens from bodies in the morgue as directed by the pathologist
  • Assist with or perform other tasks as required to support the investigation of deaths
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
  • Experience: 5 years or more
  • Specialty residency training in pathology
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
