Come and be part of a dynamic team that is making a difference in people's lives. Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Medical Production Technician - Supply Chain Operations East to join our exciting journey.

The role involves working with us to process whole blood collections into life-saving products that help patients across Canada.

Job Description
  • You will be responsible for drawing on your laboratory experience and knowledge to process blood components, including platelet concentrates, fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate, recovered plasma, concentrated red cells, and cryosupernatant plasma from whole blood and apheresis donations.
  • Using your excellent organizational skills, you will be maintaining stock of supplies in the component laboratory, including fractionation products, red blood cells, and platelets.
  • You will be involved in the maintenance of appropriate documentation and records related to inventory in compliance with Canadian Blood Services operational procedures and work instructions.
  • Applying your ability to ensure excellence, you will be performing routine maintenance of equipment and work areas to ensure safety and quality of blood products and maintaining temperature records of laboratory equipment.
Requirements
  • Completion of secondary education and minimum 1 year laboratory work experience or an equivalent combination. A BSc or College Diploma would be considered an asset.
  • Technical skills including MS Office, and relevant computer skills may be required.
  • You must have good oral and written communications skills.

Working Conditions

Shifts/hours will vary. You must be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts which are based on operational needs. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts will be assigned 4-6 weeks in advance.

Physical requirements for the role include the ability to lift weights up to 10 kg (22 lbs).
