Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for providing financial planning and accounting services to our clients. This includes investment bookkeeping, full cycle bookkeeping, and preparation of supporting documents for year-end preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Investment bookkeeping including reconciliation with broker statements and tax reporting slips.
  • Full cycle bookkeeping including A/P, A/R, bank and credit card reconciliation and month end journal entries.
  • Preparation of supporting documents for year-end preparation for internal accounting team
  • Correspondence with Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Quebec, as required.

Requirements

  • University degree, college diploma or diploma of vocational studies (DEP).
  • Investment bookkeeping (an asset)
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of software applications including QuickBooks, SAGE CaseWare, Caseiew, Write Up, Tax Prep, Excel, and other MS Office Applications.
  • Have a self-starter attitude with well-developed time management skills and the commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Have proven problem solving capabilities including ingenuity, analytical skills, and creativity.
  • Possess exceptional technical skills and a fine attention to detail.
  • Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to organize, prepare and clearly present information to our clients and team.
  • Public accounting experience will be a definite plus.
