Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Oncology Hospitalist to join our team at HealthMatch BC in Kelowna, BC. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team providing hospital-level care to patients in the comfort of their own homes.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires the successful candidate to work independently and as part of a team to determine patient eligibility, coordinate care and monitoring, and assess readiness for discharge from the Hospital at Home program.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Hospital at Home programs and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be based at Kelowna General Hospital, assessing patients in hospital when they are accepted to the HaH and providing house calls when required, a minimum of once per patient stay.

Responsibilities
  • Determine patient eligibility for the Hospital at Home program
  • Coordinate care and monitoring for patients in the program
  • Assess readiness for discharge from the program
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
