About the Role

Cowichan Tribes is seeking a skilled Nursing Supervisor to join our healthcare team. As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and lead a team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and other nursing personnel to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of treatments given, consult with clients to determine their needs and preferences, and ensure that administrative procedures are followed.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that quality nursing care is provided to patients, and that all nursing staff are following established protocols and procedures.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to nursing staff on new procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a nursing leadership role, preferably in an Aboriginal healthcare setting.
  • Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications, and licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and attention to detail.
