Job Summary

At Extendicare Canada Inc., we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Housekeeping Aide to join our team at the McCall Centre for Continuing Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Clean patient rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, furniture, walls, ceilings, lights, vents, and windows.
  • Adhere to established patient policies and procedures, including safety rules and safe working practices.
  • Pick up garbage and transport it to designated areas.
  • Be aware of patient Rights & Responsibilities and respect and promote them.
  • Attend in-service training as required to better serve patients.
  • Attend staff meetings as required to stay informed about patient changes.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (patients).
  • Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy, particularly ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Extendicare's Code of Conduct.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position.
