Accounting Assistant

Canada Computers & Electronics is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparing financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement.
  • Bookkeeping general ledger transactions in Sage and/or Netsuite.
  • Monthly expense variance analysis.
  • Reconcile bank, credit cards, and inter-company accounts.
  • Assist with Balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
  • Assist with HST/GST, PST, EHT, WSIB, and Payroll tax returns.
  • Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions.
  • Assist and coordinate with higher level management for special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
Requirements:
  • University Degree/College Diploma in Accounting field.
  • Minimum 3 years of general ledger accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the Company organization.
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of QuickBooks/Sage/NetSuite, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sage and/or NetSuite experience preferred.
