Job Title: Youth Care Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Care Worker to join our team at Ranch Ehrlo Society. As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care, support, and guidance to children, youth, and adults with complex needs. You will work in a dynamic and inclusive environment, fostering a safe and nurturing living environment where participants feel valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and physical support to individuals with complex needs, promoting a safe and structured living environment.
  • Develop and implement engaging activity plans that encourage participation and promote social connections.
  • Collaborate with clinical professionals and unit managers to share insights and contribute to treatment plans and goal setting.
  • Teach essential life skills, such as self-care, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and building positive social connections.
  • Resolve conflicts with empathy and use behavior management strategies to guide participants through challenges.
  • Complete documentation and reports with accuracy and clarity, ensuring all agency standards are met.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Care (CYC) or a related field is an asset.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, or developmental challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player attitude, and leadership skills.
  • Emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of behavior management and support strategies.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to leverage them in daily tasks.
