Job Title: Food Service Counter Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team at Southside Market.

Job Summary:

The Food Service Counter Attendant will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring the efficient operation of our food service counter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and place them in storage areas.
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, and scour pots and pans to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Package take-out food and portion and wrap foods to meet customer demands.
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer expectations.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables, taking orders and handling customer inquiries with a smile.
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars to ensure a fresh and appealing food display.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs to meet customer needs.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Handle and store cleaning products safely and efficiently.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit to meet customer demands.
Work Environment:

The Food Service Counter Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure to meet customer demands.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience.
  • Client focus, reliability, and team player skills are essential for success in this role.
