Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Project Manager Lead to oversee and coordinate electrical projects from inception to completion. This individual will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, schedule creation, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Create and manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, CSA Canadian Electrical Code, and industry standards.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals are met.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and enforce safety protocols on the job site.
  • Identify and resolve project issues and challenges in a timely manner.

Education / Competency Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • PMP Certification or related diploma in project management.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools: JDE, Procore.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in the electrical ICI sector combined with supervisory and/or superintendents' role.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

  • Contract management.
  • Construction scheduling, planning, and execution.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Project structural design interpretation.
  • Business operations processes.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Must be able to obtain a Level II Secret Clearance.
  • Willing and able to travel within NS.

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate user of: MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system would be an asset.
  • Procore.
