About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician and Project Manager to join our team in the Saguenay Lac St-Jean region. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our aluminium smelter facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply the organization's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles by adopting a positive attitude that prioritizes zero harm.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the plant's various equipment in a preventive maintenance process and in a teamwork environment.
  • Actively participate in problem-solving as well as technology improvement strategies with the process team and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the definition, coordination, and execution of small to medium-sized projects related to equipment startup activities, modifications, and asset maintenance.
  • Ensure that projects meet deliverables, set objectives, specifications, and client needs.
  • Support operations, startup, and commissioning activities of a plant while ensuring equipment reliability and making necessary improvements.
  • As part of these tasks, the candidate will carry out risk analysis activities and manage health and safety.
  • Collaboration, creativity, and mutual support are at the heart of our work environment, thus fostering innovation and collective success.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Hold at least a DEC in Mechanical Engineering, or in Industrial Maintenance, or in Industrial Engineering Technology, or in Electrical Engineering Technology – Automation and Control, or Electrodynamics, and or any other combination of relevant education or experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment and interest in high technology.
  • Experience in aluminium operations is an asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and basic knowledge of English.
