About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at FIRSTVIEW HOMES LTD. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the construction of our homes meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Plans: Develop and implement building plans in accordance with building codes and regulations.
  • Woodworking and Construction: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to construct buildings and structures.
  • Estimating and Scheduling: Estimate costs and materials required for projects and schedule work on sites to ensure timely completion.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise and instruct apprentices and other workers on site to ensure they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, and be exposed to noise, dust, and physical demands.
  • Physical Capabilities: Be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and handle heavy loads, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week.
