Job SummaryWe are seeking a qualified Instructor for Indigenous Early Childhood Education to join our team. As a key member of our Academics department, you will play a primary role in planning and facilitating Indigenous Early Childhood Education (INECE) Level 1 to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, coordinate, and deliver all program components for lower literacy adult learners, focusing on essential skills and knowledge transferability to future employment experiences and career choices in Early Childhood Education.
- Create a positive learning environment that guides and ensures each student's success, keeping current with developments in subject areas, resources, and methods.
- Work collaboratively with Academic staff and community contacts to develop and maintain a creative and positive learning environment and experience for learners.
- Deliver a specific program according to the needs of the community, funding agency, or employer, networking and building relationships with employment agencies, networks, and employers in the community.
- Link students to work placements or volunteer opportunities, planning a project in collaboration with students to facilitate the development and practice of workplace skills.
- A two-year post-secondary diploma in Education, Social Services, or relevant education and experience related to Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor's degree in Education with at least two (2) years of related experience in facilitating or teaching.
- Experience in assessing and counseling First Nation adults is considered an asset, as well as knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations.
- Strong commitment to helping students learn and succeed, with an understanding of adult learning theories and principles.
- Flexible and Adaptable, Effective Communication, Relationship Building, Results Oriented, Student Focus, Communication (Instructional), Knowledge and Expertise, Teamwork.
This is an online teaching position, requiring the instructor to teach through a Learning Management system called Brightspace. The successful candidate will be required to provide a cleared criminal record check with vulnerable sector check upon hire.
