About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Pathologist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd.

Job Summary:

As a Clinical Pathologist, you will play a key role in diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders through the examination of laboratory samples and specimens.

Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders through microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens
  2. Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  3. Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  4. Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  5. Supervise laboratory activities and train resident pathologists and morgue attendants
  6. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
  7. Assist with or perform autopsies and surgical specimen examinations under pathologists' supervision

Requirements:

  • Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
  • Specialty residency training in pathology
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities

Work Environment:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
