Job Summary
Brightshores is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting a safe and supportive environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and educating patients and families on health-related topics.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a culture of patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility.
- Ability to interpret basic arrhythmias and work on Medical/Surgical Unit as required.
- Current certification in ACLS, PALS, BCLS, and CTAS, or willingness to obtain.
- Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Assessment and interviewing skills.
- Ability to escort patients via ambulance services when required.
- Flexibility to meet unit, staff, and patient needs.
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to work all shifts.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Participation in staff meetings and unit-specific projects.
- Communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Recent satisfactory attendance and performance.
- Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Emergency Nursing Certificate.
- Physical Assessment Course.
- TNCC or equivalent.
- Recent Medical/Surgical/PACU/Day Surgery/Critical Care experience.
- Two years recent Emergency experience.
- NRP.
