Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall appearance and maintenance of our hospital grounds, parking lots, and building entrances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, pruning, and trimming of grass and plants.
  • Operate a skid steer loader (bob cat) to perform various tasks, such as clearing snow and debris.
  • Perform auxiliary groundskeeping duties, including cleaning, planting, and repairing as required or directed.
  • Ensure the overall appearance and maintenance of all grounds, parking lots, and building entrances.
Requirements
  • Three (3) years' experience in grounds maintenance.
  • Previous experience operating a skid steer loader (bob cat) is required.
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Certified as a Landscape Technician by the Province of Manitoba Department of Labour.
  • A Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license is required and must be maintained.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Neat and tidy appearance.
Working Conditions
  • Physically able to carry and move loads up to 34 kgs.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to withstand long periods of strenuous activity.
