Job Title: Building Energy Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Energy Engineer to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a key member of our Technical Services and Procurement Branch, you will play a critical role in optimizing the energy performance of our facilities and reducing carbon emissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with technical design requirements
  • Provide guidance on energy target goal setting for projects
  • Advise on proposed upgrades to existing facilities
  • Act as a resource for project business cases, design, and facility operation
  • Contribute to policy drafts, briefings, and reports
Qualifications:
  • 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
  • 5 years of specialized experience in building energy modeling
  • Registered as a P. Eng. with APEGA
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in building envelope commissioning or design
  • Strong technical competence in engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Knowledge of building energy codes and policies
