Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Materials Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction materials testing group, you will provide expert advice and guidance on construction materials testing and inspection practices.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Provide construction materials testing and inspection expertise on various projects, including land development, buildings, highways, bridges, and municipal infrastructure.
  2. Supervise and direct field staff, providing leadership and training in construction materials testing and geotechnical disciplines.
  3. Direct preparation and/or supervision of reports, referencing municipal and provincial specifications, and other written documentation.
  4. Work closely with our laboratory manager and oversee all laboratory operations to ensure compliance with CCIL requirements.

Requirements

  • University degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of civil and geotechnical engineering experience in Southern Ontario.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of principles of construction materials testing and inspection, geotechnical engineering, and soil mechanics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
