About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Teacher to join our team at Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School. As an Inclusive Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs and promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with Indigenous backgrounds
  • Utilize trauma-focused practices, Universal Design for Learning, and differentiated instruction to promote student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Major or minor in Inclusive Education (Special Education) or related field
  • Practicum and/or work experience in Inclusive Education at the Middle School level
  • Case management experience required
  • Training and experience with Level B Assessments (e.g., KBIT2/KTEA III)
  • Non-violent crisis intervention certification
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
